Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Teqfino ("we", "us", "our") develops Shopify apps including StockMap - Multi-Location Inventory and Easy Countdown Timer. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you install or use our apps, how we use it, and your rights.

By installing one of our apps you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and contact us to request deletion of any stored data.

2. Data We Collect

From merchants (store owners) when you install our app:

• Shop domain, shop name, and contact email address
• Shopify OAuth access token (required to call the Shopify API on your behalf)
• App settings and configuration you save within the app
• Subscription plan status (managed and billed through Shopify)

From store visitors through our storefront widgets:

• Geolocation (StockMap) - used in-browser only to sort locations by proximity. This data is never sent to or stored on our servers.
• Back-in-stock email addresses (StockMap Enterprise) - collected with explicit visitor consent, used solely to send the requested restock notification.
• Anonymous usage data (Easy Countdown Timer) - aggregated timer impression and click counts with no personally identifiable information attached.

3. Shopify API Permissions

We request only the minimum permissions required to deliver each app's features.

StockMap requests: read_locations, read_inventory, read_products, read_metafields, write_metafields, read_customers.

Easy Countdown Timer requests: read_themes, write_themes.

These permissions are used exclusively to provide the advertised features. We do not use them for any other purpose.

4. How We Use Your Data

• Authenticate your store and deliver the app's core features
• Store your configuration preferences and display settings
• Send back-in-stock notifications to opted-in visitors (StockMap)
• Respond to support requests
• Send important service notifications (e.g. policy changes, billing alerts)
• Improve app performance using aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not profile your store visitors.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Data is shared only in these limited circumstances:

• Shopify - our apps are built on Shopify's platform. Your store data is also subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy.
• Hosting providers - our infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
• Email delivery (StockMap) - a transactional email provider sends back-in-stock notifications on your behalf. Only the subscriber's email and the relevant product name are shared.
• Legal requirements - we may disclose data when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

6. Data Retention

Your store data and settings are retained for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall an app, Shopify sends us an automated uninstall notification. Upon receiving it:

• Your OAuth access token is immediately deleted
• Your app configuration is deleted within 48 hours
• Back-in-stock subscriber emails are deleted within 30 days

Aggregated, anonymised analytics (which cannot identify you or your store) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

7. Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures: TLS encryption for all data in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive data including access tokens, HMAC verification on all Shopify webhooks, and strict access controls limiting who on our team can access production systems.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please contact us using the details in the Contact section below.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. EEA and UK residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Cookies

Our app admin panel uses essential session cookies to maintain your authenticated Shopify session. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Our storefront widgets (StockMap and Easy Countdown Timer) do not set any cookies on your store visitors' browsers.

10. Children's Privacy

Our apps are designed for Shopify merchants and are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify active users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of our apps after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
